Englewood CDC recently built 20 new construction duplexes throughout the neighborhood that provide 40 affordable housing units for rent in our neighborhood. These properties, called Englewood Homes, are funded through Rental Housing Tax Credits and with grant funds from the City of Indianapolis. One of these homes is the Alley House, a net-positive energy home designed by Ball State University Architecture students. This home received the overall Solar Decathlon Award for the Build Challenge in 2023. The home was built by Cedar Street Builders and includes a number of unique green features.
